- __ ONE: I DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE MOST OF CANON. slade is a character that has been mishandled in many different ways over the decades; writers either sloppily try to establish him as an irredeemable scumbag, or they try to make him out to be some roguish hero. and though wolfman showed slade more favor than he deserved, slade is neither.
| - __ TWO: that being said, the main canon influence on how i write slade is the 1991 DEATHSTROKE SOLO. outside of that, my interpretation of slade is mostly based on headcanons and other outside media. |
- __ THREE: for the love of god, don't have your muse try to fight slade without prior ooc discussion. understand that comics are made for profits, not to tell good stories, so the average human vigilante mopping the floor with deathstroke is just because most writers don't wanna let a bad guy win. that, and a lot of writers don't seem to know how to balance his abilities to begin with. unless you're cool with your muse getting maimed at the very least, don't immediately try to launch into a fight without talking to me first.
| - __ FOUR: slade is not a good person. he has a complicated code of honor, yes, but he's not good. i place him pretty securely in the "neutral evil" territory. he's out to make a profit above all else. |
- __ FIVE: slade is also mentally ill. there is in-narrative evidence that he experiences hallucinations, delusions, bouts of catatonia, as well as unspecified psychotic episodes. this is not something i will shy away from in my writing, and i'm not gonna disclose my entire diagnostic history on tumbler dot edu, but understand that i am writing what i know here.
- __ SIX: as stated in the warnings section of my rules, there will be mentions of abuse on this account. this is both in reference to slade's upbringing, as well as his relationships with his children. while i disagree with how this is portrayed in canon, the way slade treats his children is important to their characterizations, so it is something i acknowledge, though i won't go into full detail about.

REGENERATIVE HEALING: slade is capable of healing from virtually any injury; he has come back even from death. he is also said to have very precise control over this, being able to slow down and speed up his healing process at will. wintergreen has noted that he is capable of healing himself so that there was "no sign he fought at all".
IMMORTALITY: the nature of his healing factor makes him practically immortal.
ENHANCED INTELLECT: slade is capable of thinking and processing external stimuli faster than the average human.
ENHANCED SENSES: working in tandem with his intellect, slade's senses are also enhanced beyond the average human. he is able to perceive and process some of the most minute details of his surroundings. this also has the effect of seeming as if he has a "sixth sense" of sorts.
SUPERHUMAN PHYSIOLOGY: everything about slade has been enhanced by a serum he was administered during his time in the army. These enhancements include his speed, stamina, strength, and agility.
DECELLERATED AGING: slade has not and will not physically age past his mid-30s. he is forever in his prime.
ARMOR: designed both for agility and to withstand quite a beating, slade's armor is specially built with a lightweight promethium mesh undersuit, ceramic plating, and a special blend of promethium & Nth metal fibers.
MASK: another mainstay of slade's armor is his mask. it's gone through many redesigns over the years, and his current one is two separate pieces: a kevlar hood, and the actual faceplate. the faceplate itself is a testament to slade's confidence in his abilities, as it advertises his missing eye.
PROMETHIUM BLADE: arguably one of the most iconic pieces of slade's everyday arsenal, his promethium blade is a five pound claymore-style sword that never dulls.
STAFF: collapsible, for easy concealment. often used either for maneuvering around obstacles, or as a last resort, if an enemy has managed to disarm him. designed to only respond to sensors in the palms of his gloves, the staff is equipped to fire short range, but very powerful blasts of energy.
